What is Quantum Mechanics?

 Seriously, what is Quantum? We start out with simple words…. Have learnt the three states of matter- solid, liquid and gas. Learning what it’s made out of? Matter…. No matter how much times, systems always evolve to disorder called entropy. Suppose shattering of a glass because it is weak.


Here entropy cannot happen with the sub atomic scale, where it is really tiny, neither can equilibriums, which basically means the same thing. It usually goes like this that, now at this really small level which is given by the Planck Constant. To give a few examples of really tiny things are like electrons or photons or even quarks! Here are some properties of quantum state-

  1. Wave-Particle Duality: Quantum effects in everyday life. When photons act like both waves and particles. Consider the silt experiment. We cannot really determine whether something is wave or not. So why bother?
  2. Superposition: As I said forget about measurement! Imagine this, when it is really tiny enough to have reactions. Particles can go two places at once considering how tiny it is. An electron can be in many states at the same time called it’s spin and in as many apparatus. This is why quantum physics uses math. To represent how to rotate apparatus. Blah Blah Blah.
  3. Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle: Once again, forget even calculating! Imagine you are playing tennis. You really want to hit this ball back. So what you do is focus on it, what will you focus on? It’s speed or position it’s coming at you, the more you focus on one the blind you become to the other one. So avoid calculating there is no accurate representation.
  4. Quantum Entanglement: This may sound crazy but now that you heard superposition, a particle can interchange with another and be bonded with it.

Now, how is Quantum applied in everyday life? Like Nick Fury in Marvel suggested the idea of quantum locks for safety. Now understand quantum means no calculation time! So nobody can crack it. It automatically creates suprise unknown codes. Google it.
